Audi has launched a new 309bhp V6 BiTurbo diesel engine in the UK for the A6 range and A7 Sportback. If you’re in Germany and wondering why reporting a new, more powerful Bi-Turbo diesel for the A6 and A7 is news, that’s because you’ve already got it, and we haven’t. Until now.
Italian design and manufacturing house Pininfarina S.p.A announced it will be cutting back its operations, with the closure of its manufacturing facilities. The decision will see the brand now focusing solely on design and engineering aspects for the automotive industry. The move follows the recent completion of a partnership with Volvo, which saw the production of the C70 convertible at Pininfarina's Sverige AB plant in Uddevalla.

Land Rover's new Freelander is more powerful, refined, spacious – and pricier. The range will kick off at £20,935, and first deliveries are due in November. The new Freelander range is five-door only, and Land Rover is launching with the most potent engine versions: a 158bhp 2.2-litre diesel and a 229bhp 3.2-litre straight six petrol.
